Review: Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer

After having a good laughing fit over the video I've uploaded to YouTube (it's non-beauty related, just as a heads up), I'm now getting to the review!

I was one of six winners to win a box of Palladio Cosmetics from Certified F.A.B. I ended up receiving my package on April 6th. Was super duper excited and loved the packaging. Of course, I already had my make-up on, so I had to wait until the next day to start trying out the three products I won.

One of the Palladio prizes was the Herbal Foundation Primer. Was really excited to try this as I had only used face primer once before. Not to mention, I actually had been looking into getting foundation primer the day before, and HAD a primer in my hand, which I ended up putting back.

Anyway! Enough with the waiting, lets get onto the review!

Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer
Reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores with this velvety, lightweight formula. Enriched with Aloe Vera and Chamomile, Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer helps prevent the loss of hydration throughout the day, which keeps the skin looking young and fresh. Wear alone or beneath foundation, for a longer-lasting makeup application. The unique, slick texture creates a flawless canvas, and prevents liquids from setting into imperfections. Results can be seen immediately.

Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer
Packaging: The primer comes in  .674fl oz/20ml, squeezable tube. The bottle itself is clear and silver plastic. The cap twists and clicks into place. I think it's pretty much a standard cosmetic tube. Not the first time I've come across the design, I actually like it.

Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer
Ingredients: Clyclomethicone, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Chamomila Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius) Oil, Isopropylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Butylparaben, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Grape (Vitis Vinifera) Seed Oil, Camellia Oleifera Seed Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Extract, Ginseng (Panax Ginseng) Extract
Texture/Formula: It's a clear gel-like formula. When applied to the face, it goes on easily and feels very silky when being rubbed/patted in. It does come across as if it would have silicone in it, but it does not. There is no oily residue left over either. It sets quickly, not quite to a matte finish, but somewhere between matte and dewy. Dewy-matte? Is that possible?

Overall Verdict: As I've mentioned, I've only used one other face primer before this, and I have to say I do like the Palladio one. While -parabens are on the list for the ingredients, I haven't noticed anything happening to my skin since I've been wearing it (almost a week now). I've noticed that my foundation hasn't settled in and lasts much longer than it normally would. Not to mention it does feel nice going on because of that silky texture. I actually did a double take on the ingredients to make sure that silicone wasn't on the list. This gets a A+ in my book!

Tip from Palladio Beauty: Tame frizzy hair by applying a small amount of Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer to dry roots and combing through.

Price: $12.00

Availability: Palladio Beauty website, Ulta.com or at Sally Beauty Supply
