Review: Urban Decay Naked Basics

Yes, I'm late to the party with this one, and I'm sure everyone has seen plenty of review for Urban Decay Naked Basics, but I'm still doing one!

Urban Decay Naked Basics
I won this from an instagram giveaway that nuclear_beauty held (thank you so very much again!), I was beyond estatic when I got it in the mail, along with the other prizes that will have their own reviews.

So without me rambling on further, on to the review!

Urban Decay Naked Basics
The long-awaited, multipurpose MATTE companion to Naked is the palette everyone needs in their beauty arsenal. With six versatile and extremely wearable Naked shades, it has everything you need for the perfect neutral matte eye—including four totally new and exclusive shades. It all comes in a sleek compact embossed with a pretty, metallic NAKED on the front that has a slight sheen and suede-like feel that begs to be touched. Best of all, the slim design is perfect for travel, so you’ll never have to be without these must-have shades.

Packaging: It comes in a very sleek nude package with tan/brown lettering The palette itself appears to be rubberized as it doesn't easily slip from the hand. The mirror that comes inside, is the same size as the outside. Then opposite the mirror are six 0.05oz eyeshadows.

Colors:
  • Venus - off white, this is probably the only one within the palette that isn't a true matte. It's described as a demi-matte, but to me it seems to have more of a satin finish (not shimmer, not quite frost either).
  • Foxy - A light nude-yellow matte.
  • Walk of Shame (W.O.S.) - Very light nude mate (this one is the same color as my skin tone just about).
  • Naked 2 - A medium taupe matte.
  • Faint - A deep, buildable brown matte.
  • Crave - Matte black, plain and simple!

Naked 2 Venus

Overall Verdict: I love, love, love this palette! It's actually the first (and only) Naked palette I own. I did notice a tiny bit of fall out with Faint, but I think I had too much product on my brush. A good tapping eliminated that though. It's my go to palette for work and I've featured it quite a few times in pictorials or eye of the day posts. I've already put quite a dent into Faint! No matter what I'm wearing, Venus seems to be the color I go to the most for the inner corner, along with W.O.S. as my brow bone, blending up color. I honestly believe, there's no way one can go wrong with the palette.

Price: $27.00

  1. I've yet to get this palette. I have both Naked palettes, but this one, I'm dragging my feet for some reason, lol.

  2. I am so glad I got this after much thought. I thought since i have both palettes, I didn't actually NEED another one. But I caved in and I'm so glad I did. This palette has been my favorite for months and I use it pretty much every day.

  3. I got this for christmas and it is my go to! Another great thing was when I started to hit pan, I decided to depot them and found that you can continue to use the compact it came in. Just add a magnetic sheet and you can use it for travel.
