Review: Milani Eyeshadow Primer

Ok, so I got rather distracted because I'm watching The Hobbit ;x Seriously, I've had it since Easter and haven't had a chance to actually watch it. Suppose it was a good thing my cable went out then!

Anyway, enough of that, review time! Finally posting my review of Milani's Eyeshadow Primer.

So, onward and upward to the review!

Milani Eyeshadow Primer
Intensifies and extends the wear of any shadow, over 8 hour wear. A lightweight invisible finish works on all skin tones. The primer helps provide a seamless canvas for eyeshadow application and minimizes creasing throughout the day.   Makes any cream or powder eyeshadow long-wearing!

Formula/Texture: It starts off as a semi-thick formula, but when blended out it becomes more sheer. At the start of it being blended out it has a somewhat oily texture to it. During it's 30 second dry down, it starts off shiny, but once it's done drying, it becomes matte. Also after 30 seconds it retains a slight tackiness to it. Not terribly tacky, but tacky enough for shadow to grab onto it.

Color: The Primer only comes in one color, nude. It's exactly as it is described. It blends into any skin tone without issue. I want to say that the nude color almost turns transparent once dried. The nude color itself has a yellow undertone to it.

Wear Time: The website says that you can get over 8 hours of wear. I want to say it really depends on how oily your lids are, and if you let it set correctly. You can see from the image above I went from almost a quarter after 4pm to 11pm, and the shadow didn't budge. It looks like the darkest shadow (Crave from Urban Decay) may have faded slightly, but it could be due to the angle which I had my eye at. 4:16pm shot I had it open more compared to the 11:03pm shot.

Below, however, you'll see both eyes, taken several seconds after each other, after 10 hours of wear. The primer having been applied around 8:40am with the photos being taken a little after 9pm.

As you can see, on the right lid, no issues. On the left lid, the shadow has begun to crease.

Overall Verdict: Allowing the primer to fully set for 30 seconds, it works wonderfully. It lasts a full 8 hours during my work time, which is what I want for a primer. Lasting just a little further than that is just a bonus! The texture reminds me of a high end primer that I tried and just didn't like (it's a popular one), but the formula for this at least didn't split apart on me. I would definitely recommend this. And while you wait the 30 seconds out, why not apply your blush, highlighter or bronzer :)

Price: $6.49, price varies depending on where you purchase. I've seen it as high up as $8.99 at a CVS by me.

Availability: Milani Cosmetics or anywhere that Milani is sold.
