Review: Studio Gear Complete Color Luscious Lip Shine

If you took a gander at my review on the Impactfull T.L.S. Mascara from Studio Gear, then you know that I was sent two other items along with the mascara.

One of the other items I was sent was Temptress from Studio Gear's Complete Color Luscious Lip Shine line.

Now as a fair warning, swatches for lip products can go either way. I've been trying to get into a habit (why did I want to type Hobbit there) of doing lip swatches which would be the case for this post. However, my face had other plans, apparently my chin decided it wanted to host a party. The party guests didn't want to go into hiding. So when the party actually decides to leave, I'll then edit this post with a lip swatch. Those darn face parties.

Ok, enough of that, onwards and upwards to the review!

Packaging: It is a clear tube that gives you a full view of the product inside (plus!), it almost gives the illusion of the product being suspended. The very top of the tube (before the cap) is black to match the cap. The cap itself is black with clear plastic at the very top with SG in silver. For me, I love the design. It's a little bulkier than I'm used to, but that's ok! It's a very chic design.

Ingredients: Polybutene, Octyldodecanol, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2 Tricaprylin , Ricinus Comminus (Castor) Seed Oil, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, Oleyl Alcohol, Polyethylene, Fragrance(Parfum), Silica, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Lauryl PCA, Behenyl PCA, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Acrylates Copolymer, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide(CI 77861), Mica, Titanium Dioxide(CI 77891), Iron Oxides(CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850) , Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985)

Formula: Like most glosses, it has a thick formula that I noticed is on the tacky side when applied. Although it is thick, the color payoff is on the sheer side.

Applicator: I love this. Most doe foot applicators are just flat, the Luscious Lip Shine applicator actually has a little dip/curve in it to hold more product. The actual base of the applicator that connects it to the cap is clear plastic, matching the outside.

Scent: I don't know if this goes for all, and it could just be me. But Temptress smells like Bubblegum! Trident Bubblegum to be exact! I love the scent of trident bubblegum so for this to have that, ah-may-zing!

Color: The color I have is called Temptress which is depicted as a mauve-y looking rose color. In real life, the color is still the same, the base but it does have a bit of a pink-rose shimmer to it. I want to say, semi-metallic looking. I'm terrible with color descriptions, I know!

Lasting Time: I have to say, it's probably the standard gloss time when it comes to the color. Moisturizing though remains after the color is long gone.

Overall Verdict: I'm a gloss girl, I've come to that conclusion. I've been wearing more glosses then lipsticks. So for this one, I actually like it. It is slightly more tackier than I'm used to, but the scent makes up for that! I adore the color because it's a natural color for me. When I do a smokey eye, I have been pairing Temptress with it. I've also been wearing it over my Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss in Glinda. Glinda and Temptress have become my new favorite pairing together!
